OMGosh, the people singing "Africa." I feel like you've posted that one before and I fell down an Alice-sized rabbit hole and found other songs. LOL That's so cool. And you weren't kidding about the Star Wars trailer. Complete yawner without the music. If I had seen this, I would've been like, "Yeahhh, I dunno. I may pass on this one."

I DID post "Africa" before because it's so moving and why I love to get my whole annoying family singing it at holidays whenever possible. What can I say? It's this healing thing??? And people are hams? The Star Wars trailer feels like a student film and I know that's a complete sin to say in the director world, but to me, the music is everything. Sorry, not sorry.

Those pics of China were great. I hope you post some more. And the Star Wars trailer: so weird, so blah. You probably know this, but there’s a John Williams documentary on Disney+. Dying to see it. I hope your Thanksgiving is amazing and free of parental political remarks about stock portfolios and whatnot. I see a lot of word games in your immediate future 😂

Didn't the Star Wars trailer almost seem like a student film? Apart from the locations? I need to see the Williams doc too. And, yes, I suspect there will be many word games in the next few days--if only to help me hold my tongue.

It DID seem like a student film. You couldn’t really discern the plot other than there’s some kind of war among the stars. Interesting factoid I recently learned: John Williams’ son was the lead singer of Toto for a while.

Oh my GOODNESS about Toto! That's so crazy-worlds-collide--but all in one Substack!

Star Wars gets even weirder when you think about the narration: "A story of a boy, a girl (his sister), and the universe." Bleck!

Hahaha so true! They even show the scene where she kisses him "for good luck." The love triangle with them and Han was soap-opera-level bananas.

Oof, so cringe--the kiss! They really NEEDED John Williams for that love triangle to be credible. The music was like 80% of the romantic tension.

Thank you for the amazing clip of the incomparable Bonnie Raitt --when we were a lot younger-- singing the legendary songwriter, the late John Prine. You made my day! Have a lovely Thanksgiving!

Did you really grow up down the road from Charles Schulz? The cartoons of my childhood, oh the nostalgia! Glad you're enjoying music -it's the soundtrack of my childhood too. 😘

I did. I grew up in Sonoma in Sebastopol... it was magical. :)

does Babbel teach one to understand "crazy talk" the new language of the Realm...sometimes i wonder if even Otis or Bonnie could make this shit right 🥵👹💩

I DO wish Babbel had that setting! And while the music of Otis and Bonnie is indeed a balm, I'm sure they're shaking their heads as well.
