HUGE CONGRATS for signing the deal!! Well done, and richly deserved :)
I can say with full conviction that strength training 3X a week reduces the list of shit on BOTH my physical and mental health brackets. I'm teetering on the edge of buying some weird bunion-friendly sneakers, because midlife feet are hard (this is on my physical health bracket). Other than that I'm here for SPRING like a kid for Christmas morning, always have been and always will be (even though one of the only other things on my physical health bracket is seasonal allergies!).
Thanks, lady! And yes, I too am lifting 3x a week and 3x what I *think* I can lift because I tend to underestimate my ability on this front. What are the sneakers??? Are they Vivaias? Other women will be keen to know! And I am WITH you on the seasonal allergies. I was out at the Charles today and things are barely budding here, but I'm already a total hayfever girl!
I know what you mean, Hubz is always on me to LIFT HEAVIER and I'm like NAH BRUH but every time I do I see good results that week. haven't made a decision about the sneaks yet but I'll keep you posted. I've been taking queercetin supplements over the winter for general histamine reduction, and I think it's making a difference.
Absolutely! I am done with mean people--especially the ones who lie outright to your face and others around you. I have zero patience for such kookadoo delusions... Just LOOK at ALL the receipts!
YASSSS! I LURVE Keke and I lurve JHud's spirit tunnel. I feel like women need something like that every day, but especially Keke's "You know it's your girl!" announcement. LOL I follow JHud on IG and I can't tell you how many times I watched this one. LOL And Aaron Pierre's (voice of Mufasa in the new Lion King movie "Mufasa) sexy as fuck stroll. π€€
Thanks, Tamara. So much work ahead! And yeah, you start to spiral, but then you're like, Wait... this is just the 'done' season talking!!! I regret not listening to my former mother-in-law more... She had some serious wisdom going on. :)
HOOORAYYY!!! Congrats on signing the book deal! I hope you're channeling Keke Palmer energy where ever you go; what a fabulous way to enter any room. And you have indeed earned it; so excited for you and so proud of you. Excited to see what is next for you and your publishing company. I know this much: the books will all be "must reads" π
Oh, Susan! I have been meaning to write you for over a week! I am so overjoyed for all the newness in your life. I am thrilled for our authors, and while there is much work to do on the production front--it gives us so much energy to see midlife women thriving in this space and seeing their work come to fruition. The learning curve is not without its hiccups--but it's terribly exciting. So grateful you and your team are in our lives.π
Woo hoo! Congratulation on that exciting distribution deal!! Just thrilled for you all. Glad to see the universe rewarding the people on a mission to improve life, while the evil despots do everything in their power to destroy it. *sigh* I'm obviously so done with our "leaders" and Chuck Schumer. On an up note, I've also been strength training β looks like we Gen X women got the "Lift Weights Because Your Muscle Mass Is Quickly Vanishing" Memo. I deadlifted 95 lbs the other day and my trainer Debbie and I both looked at each other, like WTF? I'm a pretty petite person, so it just seemed insane. Apart from that, drawing every day (even just doodles) has been calming my brain.
I LOVE that you are drawing! And me too--I'm kind of a pipsqueak to look at--but then I can deadlift a BUNCH. I keep thinking it's that I'm willful??? And Schumer--what part of "this playbook is toast" does he not understand??? I had to turn off the PBS Newshour the other night because I was so disgusted. That is a true rarity for me. I am sincerely grateful for Perfect Bound and Simon taking us on--we will try to do right is all I can say!
Congratulations on the deal!! Iβm done with procrastinating and then beating myself up for not being able to manage my time. Hereβs to a good week!
Oh, thank you! We have so much work to do! I feel you on the procrastinating front. But then, also... life is such a damn blink, if there is any JOY in your procrastination, you should probably seize it!??? π β€οΈ
We're so grateful, but we have a TON of work to do to make sure we're in the right place at the right time! The machine is taking a minute to catch up! xox
Being a brackalogist since 1977 when Marquette won the NCAA title and I fell in love with Al Maguire I love the brackets. All of you should be looking carefully at the financial side and make sure you get your Social Security check if applicable...be afraid be very afraid. As our dumb ass Commerce Secretary said his mother wouldn't be bothered if she didn't. WTF! It's nice having a billionaire son isn't it? I am in agreement with your ex mother in law re: changing up things because I just moved a lounge type chair from one side of the living room to the other and after 2 years feel furniture happiness. I am moving my writing space a lighter space in front of a window for new writing karma and momentum. Genius I hope. Be careful out there girlies and keep a low profile. And congrats for the big publishing news.
The social security sitch is very worrisome for ordinary citizens who paid into the system over decades and who are now facing such arbitrary and capricious assholery??? For many, the SS check covers 70% of their monthly housing bill... It's bonkers. We can't have an entire segment of our population at risk. We'll devolve back into a developing nation.
But how nice to have a desk in front of a window. Re: the distribution--I'm just so relieved our authors finally have a fair shot now :)
Oh, the Perfect Bound/Simon deal and finally seeing our authors have a wonderful spot to be is "reset" enough for me! It was also gorgeous today in Cambridge--60 and sunny. But how lovely you got to slip away to La Florida! Some of my favorite writers live there--Lauren Groff, Karen Russell, Kristen Arnett, Margie Zable Fisher, and Carl Hiaasen. The place is positively teeming with talent. :)

Iβm done with so many things right now that itβs impossible to pick one. (I am in a MOOD.) Is βpeopleβ an acceptable answer?
Absolutely! I am done with mean people--especially the ones who lie outright to your face and others around you. I have zero patience for such kookadoo delusions... Just LOOK at ALL the receipts!
Amen, sister!

Women DO need JHud's spirit tunnel every day, especially right now. We need to lift each other up! π
Such fun.
Congratulations on the deal!!! Love this βdoneβ season theory. Iβd never thought of it like that before but it is so very true!

Fabulouso! Youβre not βdoneβ at all. As the late great Ms. Carpenter said, βWeβve only just begun.β
Wasn't she the best???
Congrats on the book deal!

that is really what they call bracket junkies. i won a pool onceβ¦proud junkie
Wow, very cool- book distribution deal. That's amaze-balls!
Yes, girl. It's sounds like you are definitely done with March!
The mystery rash + derma bill=oof.
I was done with March early and booked a flight to Florida.
Just needed a change in pace and scenery. Was feeling super bogged down.
Now I'm back. It helped tremendously. I'm ready to spring clean and start fresh!
I hope you get an end of March reset!
