It's funny... I loved WAITRESS, but I really didn't even think of it as I was writing this... I have been stressed lately... so perhaps my inner Kerri Russell did seep through!
She just named all the pies so perfectly. That's why this reminded me. Also, hard to watch now after what happened to Adrienne Shelly. So terribly sad. Now, I'm craving pie, which is not easy to have when you are dairy-, nut- and grain-free. LOL. I've got to figure that one out. xo
So tragic about Adrienne. Give me time--I may have something. Can you eat coconut? Does that count as a nut or a fruit? B/c a crust can be made from coconut :)
Coconut is a fruit, but companies feel the need to warn that "this was made near coconuts". LOL. I was thinking about that. Coconut shreds and dates? A little tapioca flour? Coconut flour? Potato flour? Something to bind it a bit. But I would love your take. I already have a the chocolate cake made with garbanzo beans (and it's good), and did the chocolate avocado pudding (see what HRT did to me?!?). But if you can do a pastry crust from coconut flour, you are a goddess! But I'd want the pie named Super Bitchin' Pie, if you don't mind. 😘 xo

Aww, thanks! It was brutal to write between Marlene and those ultra-snug assassin's headphones, plus I was still recovering from seven surgeries! I only hope the next book doesn't take that degree of suffering to finish.😂
Too many good things in this post to respond to and too little time tonight, but I will say that I use tapioca flour in my fruit fillings to get them to gel together perfectly!

Congrats on year 5! Is Break Up Pie from “Waitress”? Great movie. Heard the Beats show was meh.
